Today we release the Women\u2019s Aid collectable card by Phil Ropy featuring a picture by UK photographer, Rankin, from our 2007 campaign \u201cWhat\u2019s it going to take?\u201d.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

With reports of abuse continuing to rise with recent government lockdown restrictions, we are pleased to share this card to open up a new, digital way to raise awareness of domestic abuse during 16 Days. Although Covid-19 does not cause domestic abuse \u2013 only abusers are responsible for their actions \u2013 the pandemic can escalate existing abuse and close down routes to safety for women to escape.<\/p>

On this card is the brilliant actress Anne-Marie Duff, known for her work in Shameless and as Queen Elizabeth I in The Virgin Queen, both earning her BAFTA nominations for Best Actress. Most recently, Anne-Marie has been on our screens as Erin Wiley in the hugely successful Netflix show, Sex Education. Although the card features visible bruising, domestic abuse is more than bruises and takes many forms, including controlling, coercive, and violent behaviour which have long last lasting effects on survivors.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tIt\u2019s an honour to support Women\u2019s Aid again, the work they do is so necessary, especially in these strange Covid-19 and lockdown times. Back in 2007, I took an image for the \u201cWhat\u2019s It Going To Take\u201d campaign and thanks to Phil Ropy it is being reused again to raise awareness and discussion around domestic abuse. Now more than ever need to be making noise on this devastating reality.<\/span>\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
