{"id":43969,"date":"2024-01-23T12:29:37","date_gmt":"2024-01-23T12:29:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/womensaid.org.uk\/?page_id=43969"},"modified":"2024-01-23T12:34:37","modified_gmt":"2024-01-23T12:34:37","slug":"summary-of-womens-aid-safeguarding-approach","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/womensaid.org.uk\/terms-conditions\/summary-of-womens-aid-safeguarding-approach\/","title":{"rendered":"Summary of Women&#8217;s Aid safeguarding approach"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-page\" data-elementor-id=\"43969\" class=\"elementor elementor-43969\" data-elementor-post-type=\"page\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0ad76aa e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"0ad76aa\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a73c9d7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a73c9d7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h1>Summary of Women&#8217;s Aid <b>safeguarding approach<\/b><\/h1>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ab51371 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"ab51371\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b9f8b1c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b9f8b1c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Women&#8217;s Aid staff, associated personnel, members and suppliers are in positions of authority and trust and have power over the survivors, their families and members who benefit from its activities and that misuse of that power can lead to harm, including safeguarding against sexual exploitation and abuse and harassment (SEAH).<\/p>\n<p>Women&#8217;s Aid has a duty of care to prevent, report and respond to all forms of harm that may occur to all<br>persons who come into direct or indirect contact (use of images and personal data, contact through the internet or social media) with its staff and representatives.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This duty is exercised to safeguard the well-being and welfare of all persons, including:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-style: inherit; text-align: var(--text-align); background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">&nbsp;A \u201cchild\u201d is any person under the age of 18 as defined under Article 1 of the universally ratified UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, 1989 and under Working Together regardless of definitions under national law or custom.\n<p><\/p><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; text-align: var(--text-align); background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">An \u201cadult-at-risk\u201d are individuals&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; text-align: var(--text-align); background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">aged 18 years, which include youth and young people who may participate in Women&#8217;s Aid&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; text-align: var(--text-align); background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">activities.
