As we look back on our 50th year as the national network of services providing support for survivors of domestic abuse, we can celebrate many achievements, including the significant impact Women\u2019s Aid<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.&nbsp;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">has had on the sector, survivors and working towards a society where domestic abuse is no longer tolerated.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Key highlights include:&nbsp;<\/strong><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Our federation now has&nbsp;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/womensaid.org.uk\/what-we-do\/supporting-our-members\/\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">185 members<\/span><\/b><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> delivering over <strong>300\u202flife-saving\u202fservices<\/strong> across England.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li>We <span data-contrast=\"auto\">reached <strong>17.6 million people<\/strong> through&nbsp;our&nbsp;social media&nbsp;channels.&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559685&quot;:720,&quot;335559737&quot;:0,&quot;335559738&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259,&quot;335559991&quot;:360}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We continued to support survivors with grants through the\u202f<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/womensaid.org.uk\/what-we-do\/supporting-survivors\/flexible-fund\/\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Flexible Fund<\/span><\/b><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, thanks to generous funding from the Home Office.\u202fIn total the\u202f<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Home Office Flexible Fund\u202f<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">supported\u202f<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">2,560 survivors<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>#TeamWomensAid<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/womensaid.org.uk\/get-involved\/fundraise\/stepforwardchallenge\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">stepped forward<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;and raised&nbsp;a collective&nbsp;<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a346.1k.<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li>With support from our&nbsp;<strong>Experts by Experience<\/strong>, we continued to campaign for <a href=\"https:\/\/womensaid.org.uk\/get-involved\/campaign\/hear-them-or-grieve-them\/\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">improved family courts. <\/span><\/b><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Women\u2019s Aid responded to a consultation on potentially harmful changes in the family courts which would have made mediation mandatory. The dangerous measures were successfully overturned.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We launched<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/womensaid.org.uk\/the-price-of-safety\/\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u2018The Price of Safety&#8221;,<\/span><\/b><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;which showed the cost to leave an abuser. Even with state support, survivors still face a deficit of over&nbsp;<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a310,000<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&nbsp;and this doubled for survivors who do not have recourse to public funds because of their immigration status.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"TextRun SCXW189672341 BCX8\" lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW189672341 BCX8\">\u201c<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW189672341 BCX8\">I continue to be proud of our federation and the life-saving work that they do, providing help when it is most needed, despite the increasingly challenging funding climate.
