This\u00a0marks a major campaign victory for Women\u2019s Aid,\u00a0our sector\u00a0partners\u00a0and the survivors we have worked with, including our ambassador Claire Throssell MBE.\u00a0We are hopeful that this\u00a0historic\u00a0decision\u00a0will help ensure\u00a0the safety of children\u00a0is\u00a0put before the rights of abusive\u00a0parents.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2018Claire\u2019s\u00a0two sons, Jack and Paul, were murdered by their abusive father and\u00a0she has been campaigning for this landmark change ever since.\u00a0The\u00a0proposed\u00a0change in law\u00a0will mean that\u00a0from now on,\u00a0children\u00a0should\u00a0be\u00a0protected and that abusers will no longer be able to use family courts as a weapon against their victims.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cWe will now be calling for specialist domestic and sexual abuse training to be mandated for judges, in recognition of the fact that years of pro-contact culture will take time to reverse.
