Domestic abuse training for employers, staff and HR professionals within the workplace

At Women’s Aid, we offer support to employers seeking to develop their organisational response to domestic abuse, including specialist training for teams. You will be trained by our expert domestic abuse trainers, using programmes informed by frontline evidence from over 50 years of leading the sector.

What we offer

Understanding domestic abuse

Module 1 equips participants with a thorough understanding of domestic abuse, coercive behaviours, its prevalence and impact on survivors. Suitable for all working professionals, and no prior knowledge is required.​

  • Delivery: Online or in person
  • Duration: 1.5 hours​

Supporting survivors in the workplace​

Module 2 provides essential knowledge and skills for recognising and responding to domestic abuse in a trauma informed way, as well as how to effectively signpost. Suitable for professionals who completed Module 1.​

  • Delivery: Online or in person
  • Duration: 2.5-3 hours​

HR policy and domestic abuse

Module 3 is comprised of in-depth training of core policies, legal rights, safety planning and support services available to survivors of domestic abuse. Suitable for HR leads and line managers.

  • Delivery: Online or in person​ 
  • Duration: 2 hours​

Refresher sessions

Awareness raising sessions 

Introductory session on domestic abuse, its prevalence and impact. This webinar will cover definitions, common misconceptions, and the process of signposting survivors to specialised services. Suitable for organisations looking for an introduction to this topic.

On-demand training

Self-paced learning

On-demand training covering key domestic abuse topics, including definitions, different types of abuse, recognising signs and places to find support.
